General membership meetings:
1st member meeting of the winter. Talk with MF Rangers about
new rapids. Watch the explosive video! Tell everyone about your rafting
exploits.
Xmas Party
Christmas Party. Find your best White Elephant gift to to swap at one
of our most popular meetings of the year! Bring any beverage of your
choice. If you have not done a White Elephant Gift Swap it works like this, each
person brings a wrapped gift and places it under the tree. Numbers are drawn to
set the order people pick gifts from the tree. Each person that goes next can
steal a gift from someone else or pick a new one. A gift can be stolen a maximum
of three times. Gift can vary from smelly old river shoes to some really cool
stuff that Idaho River Sports places under the tree to sweeten the game a
little.
Home Movie Night
Bring your river trip footage of the past season. We will provide the popcorn!
Dutch Oven Cooking Contest
Cook your best D.O. dish for a chance to be crowned the best DO Cook of the
year. This is a kid friendly event so bring the family and enjoy some of
the best river food around. Cooks must provide a recipe to be eligible to win.
Winning recipes will be posted in the newsletter.
Annual Membership Meeting and Board Elections. This is your
chance to get on the board if there is an opening! AIRE host this event in
conjunction with their Annual Open House.

Come practice up for the start of the season!
Annual Used Equipment Sale!
Bring your whitewater gear to sell at the biggest whitewater equipment sale
in the world (that we know of)! The original Whitewater sale was started
by Rob Lesser years ago. For years it was held in Hyde Park, it moved in 2006 to
N. 31st St. at Idaho River Sports. This is next to the site of the new Boise
Whitewater Park. The location is easy to find. Just drive west from 27th St to
the end of Pleasanton. Check in your gear for sale Friday night. Come back
Saturday and buy a whole bunch of new stuff.
Safety Saturday
Join us on the Main Payette river for a day of safety education! We moved this event to the river in 2004 and have had great attendance each year. Test your skill throwing to a real swimmer in a rapid! As you float the river on Saturday stop at each station and and practice your skill. Practice old skills or learn new ones. This event is free and open to the public!
